#S1E2 End of Love Stories & Decades

Transcription of the episode #S1E2

Opening: Ricominciamo

GoOooOooOOooOoooOOoOod Morning Vietnam and Welcome Back to MUSITALY the Best Radio Show ever hosted by me, Cocopraise.

So, Guys .. how was the last week? God Bad? However …

Don’t worry People from Ibiza because Cocopraise is here to take you on a fantastic journey introducing you to good Italian music and to the stories behind both the songs and the singers.

Quindi, put your seatbelt on and let’s start again as the name of the next song: Ricominciamo

Minchia che aggancio…

Ok … the first singer we are going to listen to was born in 1945 in the lovely town of Copertino located not in the Silicon Valley, US, that one is named Cu-pertino, but in the South of Italy exactly from the amazing region of Apulia.

BTW, Copertino it’s also the same hometown of Paolo Amoroso, a well known and respectable space populariser you can follow on Twitter.

Anyway, this singer started his career in 1971 through the Italian label called Numero Uno, Number One, founded by two legends of contemporary Italian Music: Lucio Battisti and Mogol. I’ll tell you something about these two guys in a specific episode of Musitaly very soon. I promise you!

However, despite the powerful voice of this guy and a couple of good songs such as È ancora giorno (It’s still day) and Segui lui (follow him), written both from the golden duo Battisti and Mogol, Adriano Pappalardo, the guy I am introducing to you, reached the success in 1979 with the song Ricominciamo

The song talks about the end of a relationship where he is still in love with the ex partner simply asking Let’s start again.

Part 2: Mio Padre era un Comunista

Allora? How was the song? Well, Beautiful people, I have to let you know something …

Despite this song is one of the most famous Italian songs ever… Basically, you cannot plan a journey to Italy without knowing Ricominciamo …

Probably, if the song would have been released in the latest years maybe it wouldn’t never have ever been published. Why? Because the song sings:

I know where you spend your nights
It is your right
I look and I’m quiet
but I think of all
I wake destroyed
But I try
I follow you and I take care of you
I do not give up I swear
because I am in the right
because I
I love you …

Well, probably the name of this behaviour in the 2000’s is called stalking. No? What do you think about that? Stalker or Lover?

Let me know, Beautiful People, through the official Musitaly Social accounts on Twitter and Instagram.

Ok, now let’s move on to the second song of this episode.

The name of the next singer is Francesco Motta but he is well known with his stage name Motta

The name of the song we are going to listen to is Mio Padre era un Comunista, My father was a Communist. The song is part of the Record La fine dei Vent’anni, The end of twenties and It is a kind of reflection around the end of one of the most important decades each one of us felt in our lives.

Anyway, the singer reported in many interviews that this song is a dedication to his parents and, to be honest, I really love both the music and the lyrics of this song. Especially the part where the singer describes his parents’ idea about love: The love for them is waiting together for the end of things…

What a romantic idea … Hope for you, fellas, you met the same kind of love ❤️

Part 3: Missili

Quello che mi manca sei tu … What I miss is you… it sounds like a dedication to a lost love but it aint. This part of the song is a dedication to his sister.

Our lovely sisters… How could we live without them? I have one too and she is my favourite one. Well, maybe because she is the only one I have. But she is my best friend ever because I chose her. Love you Assunta.

Vabbe’.. after the oversharing of part of my life, tell me, People from Ibiza… What do you think about the first 2 songs, so far? Don’t forget the hashtag #cocochosebetter if you are not enjoying the songs or one of them otherwise #cocoyoutheking if you like them and I swear I will bring you a slice of pizza without pineapple .. Yo!

Aaand… don’t forget to follow me on my Instagram account @cocopraise and Musitaly @Musitaly

Ok.. it’s time to move on and go straight away to the third song.

The next song is sung by two singers who belong to the independent music movement also known as indie. They are Frah Quintale, stage name of Francesco Servidei from the North of Italy, exactly from Brescia and Giorgio Poi, stage name of Giorgio Poti from Novara, not too far from Frah Quintale city.

The song describes the end of a relationship. Exactly that part when you think that your ex partner destroyed your heart and you swear to yourself that never ever you will believe her, but hey… wait a minute … if you still love me, we could get back together otherwise just go away from me. So, have you got that kind of situation?

Part 4: Decenni

OooOooOOoooOOok E adesso non ti parlo piu’. And now I won’t talk to you anymore

Ok … Ridendo e Scherzando we are already at the fourth song of the second episode of Musitaly.

The name of the next singer is Amedeo Minghi and he is one of the favourite singers of my mother generation. He is a component of the classic Italian style. We could say … Old school.

Born in 1947, Amedeo Minghi began his long career around 1965 and he wrote a lot of successes. One of them is Vattene Amore sung with Mietta. This song is still one of the most famous Italian songs but we are going to listen to another one.

The song I chose for you is Decenni, Decadies. The second main topic of this episode..

The song it’s a kind of journey between our memories. It’s like an admission of time which has passed away too fast.

But, at the same time, it’s an awareness of the beautiful sense of life. In fact, the song ends saying the memories are beautiful because it’s the time that turns them into beautiful memories. Figo, no?

Amici, ma soprattutto Amiche … Amedeo Minghi with Decenni

Part 5: Ti Sento

Sooooooooo? How was this song? Please, guys let me know your feedback. It is very important for me.

Unfortunately, we are almost at the end of this episode. But don’t worry I will wait for you next week with more beautiful songs from Italy.

In the meantime, let’s listen to the last one for today.

They are Matia Bazar, an important Italian pop band formed in the famous city of Genoa in 1975. They are still active but during the years the band changed different members.

The song I chose for this episode is one of the most famous ever, Ti Sento, I feel you, sung by Antonella Ruggiero, the vocalist of the band at the time of the release of this song, 1985.

Ti Sento reached number one position in the Italian and Belgian music charts of that year. And I recently discovered that the famous German techno group Scooter released a cover of the song.

Well guys.. I used to work as a DJ when I was younger and I really love Scooter because of the song One, also known as Always Hardcore. But Please … I do not suggest you listen to the Scooter version if you don’t like Techno music.

Vabbe’ Scooter a parte, Signore e Signori.. Matia Bazar, Ti Sento!

Matia Bazar – Ti Sento

Closing

Ok Beautiful People…. Mi Ami o No? Do you Love Me or Not?

It’s Super Sad But all the beautiful things end … But Musitaly will be back exactly in 7 days.

This one was the last for today. Thank you for listening to me.

I’ll catch up with you next week and in the meantime don’t forget you are Marvelous.

Love You and …

Don’t Forget Me

Ciao
